Smart enables business professionals from a range of fields and backgrounds to pursue their work by providing them with a set of shared tools: from legal, financial and administrative tools to training, business advice and workspaces. WHO WE ARE CSM was founded in 1988 as a short-term mission organization that desires to "provide an effective urban ministry experience that transforms lives, influences local churches and communities, and honors Christ.” Currently, CSM has a full-time ministry presence in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York City, Philadelphia, the San Francisco Bay Area and Washington DC. WHAT WE DO We help you experience a city. Living firsthand among the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of urban life is an irreplaceable experience. Our housing options are located in the heart of their respective city, providing you with the opportunity to eat at local international restaurants and discover the delights of Salvadorian, Middle Eastern, Filipino, African–American, and other cuisine. We help you learn a city. There are unique issues and problems that each city faces. There are also unique and incredible things God is doing to foster and further His Kingdom in each city, through the indigenous organizations that operate on the front lines of urban ministry. You’ll learn what city dwellers face, and how to overcome challenging circumstances. We help you help a city. At CSM, you become part of the solution for a city. By offering your time, energy, and prayers, ministry sites are supported and built up to their full potential of service. You will be integrated into a variety of hands-on ministry opportunities to ensure that your time is spent supplying substantive help to God’s people in the city. Founded in 2007, Collective Impact is a unique non-profit organization whose mission is to bring constructive change to people. We recognize that all people are connected, and believe that, if we work together, we can develop inventive solutions to the issues facing our community. Collective Impact serves as an incubator for innovative programs. We aim to nurture innovative solutions to society’s most pressing issues. We provide resources and support to organizations so they can focus on developing their programs. Together we can make an impact. The programs in our organization – Ella Hill Hutch Community Center, Magic Zone, Mo’MAGIC – may focus on different work, but they share a common goal: to create a positive impact on our local communities and the people they support. We partner with other organizations, agencies, and programs who share our vision. We understand that through education, people and communities can become empowered to transform their lives and situations. We provide the support and resources to help people of all ages become self-reliant, whether they are at-risk youth living in public housing or families who need information about nourishing food, and how they can live a healthier life.
