Media RING was established in 2008 when, in an industry first, the group which encompasses broadcasters, government media agencies (both state and federal), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, trade associations and guilds, media buyers and newspaper/new media groups formed a collective that aimed to support and promote reconciliation in the media sector. Media RING is about harnessing the ample goodwill, knowledge and experience in the media industry to develop practical measures that deliver real outcomes for Indigenous Australians. The work of Media RING is fully supported by Reconciliation Australia.
