One of the premier music organizations in the Southeastern United States and the oldest operating symphony orchestra in the Carolinas, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra (CSO) connects with more than 130,000 music lovers each year through its lively season of concerts, broadcasts, community events, and robust educational programs. The CSO is committed to its mission of uplifting, entertaining, and educating the diverse communities of Charlotte-Mecklenburg and beyond through exceptional musical experiences. The CSO employs 65 professional full-time orchestra musicians, fosters four youth orchestras, and offers significant educational support aimed at serving the under-resourced areas of our community. Founded in 1932, the Charlotte Symphony plays a leading cultural role in the Charlotte area and aims to serve the community as a civic leader, reflecting and uniting our region through the transformative power of live music.

The Mint Museum is North Carolina’s first art museum dedicated to international art and design. With two locations—Mint Museum Randolph and Mint Museum Uptown—it houses one of the largest collections in the Southeast. The Mint is committed to engaging and inspiring a global community through innovative exhibitions and programs.
Mint Museum Uptown:
In the heart of Uptown Charlotte, this location is home to our renowned Craft + Design collection. Permanent collections include American Art, Modern and Contemporary Art, and Craft + Design, along with a rotating series featuring local artists, Constellation CLT.
Mint Museum Randolph:
Located in what was the first United States branch mint, it opened in Charlotte’s Eastover neighborhood as North Carolina’s first art museum. Permanent collection galleries include Art of the Ancient Americas, African Art, European Art, and Native American Art. This location also houses the Mint’s library, which contains over 23,000 books, 230 magazines, and 5,500 artist files.
