The MCA Trusts (MCAT) were founded in 1988 to provide quality health care and retirement benefits for participating MCA members. Headquartered in Billings, Montana, the Trusts provide benefits for over 3,000 Montana construction workers and their families for a total of over 6,000 covered lives. Participating employers may purchase health care and retirement benefits for hourly and salaried employees. The MCAT plans are qualified plans recognized by the Montana Department of Transportation. The plans meet all Davis-Bacon and ERISA requirements. MCAT plans are portable between participating member companies with no loss of benefits. This affords construction workers the opportunity to maintain consistently high-quality benefits across a broad spectrum of Montana contractors. The Trusts are governed by their Board of Trustees, a nine-member group appointed by the Montana Contractors' Association Board of Directors. Daily operations are managed by the MCAT staff under the direction of Martell Hilderbrand, Director of Trusts Operations.
