As you know at Mayvers we take your health and wellbeing very seriously which is why we always clearly state our ingredients and allergens on every one of our labels, to help you make a better choice when choosing the right products to enjoy. We advise that if you have any known allergies to the allergens listed on the label (ie. Our pure-state Peanut Butter that "May be present: treenuts, sesame and soy), then it's best to not eat it, just to be on the safe side. You may be aware that Woolworths recently made a decision to recall a variety of their own Wooloworth's Macro Natural and Macro Organic Nut Spreads from Woolworths and Thomas Dux stores nationally due to concern over the level of declared allergens (peanuts & tree nuts) being present in some of their jars. Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) do not have specific guidelines around the tolerated levels of allergens, so Woolworths decided to take extra precaution with regard to their Macro brand. As part of Woolworths new approach to allergen labelling, although all Mayver's products are clearly labelled to state that they may contain allergens (eg. sesame, peanuts, soy and tree nuts) Woolies has temporarily removed Mayver's Smooth & Crunchy Super Natural Peanut Butters from its shelves whilst they qualify the levels of traces of tree nuts in its stocked products. This is a temporary testing procedure in Woolies only, in line with their new labelling policy so unless you have an allergy to soy, sesame or tree nuts our Mayver's Peanut Butters are completely safe to eat and enjoy. During the process, some of our Super Spreads have also been accidentally removed from shelf however they are completely fine to eat and not part of Woolworth's review as they clearly list all known allergens in the label's ingredient panel. If you have these products at home you can still continue to enjoy them and can still purchase our products from other supermarkets and your local health food store.
