META was formed in Lawrence, Kansas. It grew out of the private consulting practice of Brad Mayhew, PE, which began in 1985. In order to equip the emerging asbestos industry, EPA established 3 Asbestos Training Centers, including the University of Kansas in Lawrence. An industry pioneer, Mr. Mayhew was on the original instructor staff of that training center. Now one of the largest providers of environmental and safety training services, META's success is predicated upon an adherence to three basic principles:1) simplicity in form,2) accessibility of services offered, and3) practicality of information provided.Early on in its history, META expanded its services to include technical support to building owners, property managers, and employers in addressing a growing list of complex environmental concerns. These expanded services include environmental consulting, engineering & design, environmental investigation and materials testing, and industrial hygiene services. META?s grass roots involvement in the industry and its sensitivity to regulatory and legal liability issues made this expansion a logical progression. Adhering to the same principles that accounted for the success of our training division, META's technical services division produced similar growth. Our staff of professionals currently includes professional engineers, a certified industrial hygienist, and industrial hygiene and laboratory technicians. We also maintain professional affiliations with other qualified firms for any additional consulting needs that may be required.
