Mayama was founded back in 1982 in Perth, Australia with the principle aim of serving the souvenir trade. Such was the success of the initial venture the company started supplying component parts. By the early 1990's this area of the business had become the main focus for Mayama. In early 2000, Mayama had begun supplying to other retail and wholesale outlets and this is where the company continues to be successful today. At Mayama, we understand woodturning and find it an extremely rewarding pastime that allows you to create something that is truly outstanding. We therefore like to pass on our knowledge to people who are also interested in the trade. This may be a complete novice or someone with several years experience but is looking to hone their skills. This gives you the opportunity to develop your skills and ideas giving you a greater knowledge of wood turning.
