Masterdisk, founded in 1973 and owned and operated by expert engineer Scott Hull since 2008, is “one of the most enduring mastering facilities in the world” (Mix magazine). The NYC studio has mastered many of the world’s most famous records, and continues to master for major labels, indie labels and independent artists. Masterdisk masters for vinyl as well as digital: they have one of only a few existing Neumann VMS-80 lacquer cutting lathes on-site, and the expert engineers to use it to the best of its formidable capabilities.

The seed to open The Mastering Palace came after 11 frustrating years of working at various mastering studios in NYC. I wanted to build a peaceful, elegant, creative environment for myself, my staff, and most importantly, my clients. With that mission statement as my lighthouse, I built The Mastering Palace in 2007. What started with just one Mastering Room (built with blood, sweat, and a lot of tears) has grown into a multi-room, full-service mastering facility with over 24 Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations and countless platinum records. We can provide our clients with every possible audio format they may need, from vinyl master lacquers cut on our fully refurbished Neumann VMS70 lathe to the latest immersive Dolby ATMOS masters. Our client list covers a broad range of major labels, indie labels, and genres. It has been a pleasure to aid artists from all over the globe to fully realize the vision of their songs or albums, from the current legends to the young legends in the making. Dave Kutch
