The Master in Development, Innovation and Change (MiDIC) is a one-year, international, interdisciplinary Master program aimed at providing education and training in local development and innovation issues. Modern theories and advanced techniques on the subject will be taught at a postgraduate level and training in the field will be gained through an internship period which finishes the program. The Master's program is designed for students planning to pursue careers as experts, consultants and professionals within local, national and international organisations - private (profit and non-profit) and public (administrative and research oriented) - acting in contexts of local development processes, both in developed and in developing and less developed countries. The program, in partnership with the Global Studies Program (GSP) of the University of Freiburg (Germany) and, starting from the academic year 2010-2011, with the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), provides students with the possibility to study on three different continents and expand their knowledge of diverse economies, politics and cultures. By the end of the program, students should be able to tackle the main issues related to the introduction, diffusion, and implementation of innovation, the design and management of local development programs and the planning and implementation of integration and co-operation policies in a global context.
