Founded in 1984, the Master Gardener Association of Wayne County (MGAWC) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to distributing current gardening information, increasing environmental awareness, promoting gardening activities and supporting volunteerism. MGAWC co-sponsors Spring Day with the Henry Ford Estate, places volunteers at quality garden centers on Saturday in May as part of Let's Go Gardening, holds the Growing with Master Gardeners conference at UM-Dearborn sponsored by the Environmental Interpretive Centers, has a volunteer recognition night in December, and provides educational programs each month for members.
