That’s why every purchase of our products benefits the Deepkiran Foundation, which helps provide access to education for underprivileged children in rural India. WHO WE ARE
For over 25 years, Tasty Bite® has been making fast, flavorful and all natural ethnic food - including entrees, sauces and rices - to delight consumers. And since we believe that good food shouldn't come at the expense of people or the planet, we proudly give back to the community and environment we operate in.
THE FARMS AND OUR COMMUNITY
The produce that ends up in our Tasty Bite® products is grown on local farms, where we also teach organic and sustainable farming techniques to our community of farmers. In our own small way, we do all we can to support the community around us with scholarship funds for our employees’ children and, when needed, local and international disaster relief.
THE ENVIRONMENT
We believe that making making food tasty and fast shouldn’t come at the expense of the planet. That’s why 80% of the energy used to make Tasty Bite comes from renewable energy sources. Sugarcane waste, widely available in the region, is our primary source of renewable energy and we harvest rainwater to recharge the groundwater supplies in our area.
Olde Thompson was originally started in 1944 as The George S. Thompson Company. Mr. Thompson retired from military duty in Europe, where pepper mills were routinely used. He then founded his company to "introduce" pepper mills to the American market. In the mid 1960's the company was acquired by Douglas Shumway. Olde Thompson is now the largest manufacturer of salt and pepper mills in the world. Every 18 seconds of every day (24 hours a day, 365 days per year), someone buys an Olde Thompson pepper mill.
