MARS VR Lab creates gamified VR experiences that allow people with disabilities to learn new skills in a safe environment so they may reach their full potential. Gamification keeps children engaged and eager to continue therapy. We all learn best when we’re motivated, and the best way to motivate is to make learning fun. MARS VR Lab was created by VR technology experts who collaborate with medical and rehabilitation specialists at the IWK Health Center. MARS VR Lab has an executed research and collaboration agreement to co-develop these solutions together. Our first product, MARS VR XPod, started research trials on October 15, 2021. MARS VR XPod is a gamified power wheelchair training system that uses Virtual Reality to eliminate many of the barriers to mobility training for both the patient and care provider. XPod uses a reward system to drive engagement and motivate participation through fun.
