Since its establishment 30 years ago, Lush Cosmetics has been driven by innovation and its ethics.
Creators of pioneering beauty products such as the bath bomb, shower jellies and solid shampoo bars, Lush places emphasis on fresh ingredients like organic fruits and vegetables.
Lush operates a strict policy against animal testing and supports fair trade and community trade initiatives. Lush leads the cosmetics industry in combating over-packaging by running public awareness campaigns and developing products that can be sold ‘naked’ to the consumer without any packaging. There are 923 Lush shops in 52 countries worldwide.
In Australia, we employ over 500 people from manufacturing staff, sales staff in store and online who serve our customers to the teams hand-making our products in the Sydney-based factory. In 2015, Lush received the Australian Retailer of the Year award.
Our Core Beliefs:
We believe in making effective products from fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics.
We invent our own products and fragrances. We make them fresh by hand using little or no preservative or packaging, using only vegetarian ingredients, and tell you when they were made.
We believe in buying ingredients only from companies that do not commission tests on animals and in testing our products on humans.
We believe in happy people making happy soap, putting our faces on our products and making our mums proud.
We believe in long candlelit baths, sharing showers, massage, filling the world with perfume and in the right to make mistakes, lose everything and start again.
We believe our products are good value, that we should make a profit and that the customer is always right.
endota spa is a haven for Australian women and one of our country’s best-loved brands.
The endota spa story began in 2000 when Founder and CEO Melanie Gleeson pursued a hunch that relaxation and mindfulness would become more important in peoples’ lives. This early insight and the unstoppable wellness boom has made Melanie one of our most successful female entrepreneurs and endota spa the largest day spa network and wellness provider in the country. Today the business has over 100 locations throughout Australia and employs over 1000 people; 90% of them women.
The first day spa on Australia’s Mornington Peninsula, paved the way for a spa treatment to be considered a wellness priority, rather than a simple treat. The peninsula’s beautiful, natural environment was the guiding inspiration. The infinite power of nature to heal became embodied in our spas, our products and our organic treatments.
endota spa offers women a mindful escape from the stresses of everyday life and gives us the chance to make self-care a priority, with beautiful face and body products that stay true to the idea that what we put on our skin is as important as what we put in our bodies.
From spa design and fit-out to the recruitment of employees and the selection of franchisees, endota considers personal wellbeing and our innate connection to nature in every aspect of business.
Strong underlying values guide decision making and link the endota network of spas together, forming a community of inspiring, like-minded people, all connected by the belief that in order to look good on the outside, you first have to feel well on the inside.
‘endota’ is an indigenous word meaning ‘beautiful’. As an enduring symbol of the brand, the Malachite stone is known for its powers of transformation, spiritual growth and healing. Acknowledging this connection, between beauty and wellbeing, is at the heart of what we do.
