Marling School Competitors

STRS is a successful and flourishing grammar school situated in Longlevens, Gloucester. Our founder, Sir Thomas Rich, established the school in 1666 as a Bluecoat Hospital school. Although we are now a progressive and modern centre of learning excellence, we have not forgotten our heritage and we are proud of our traditions, the best of which underpin and influence the overall ethos of the School.

The Crypt School is an outstanding coeducational selective school of 1,100 students located just outside of Gloucester. The School is set on 30 acres of grounds with excellent sporting facilities. Our community is a warm, friendly, diverse, and inclusive one within which everyone is able to flourish.

Sunday Times State Secondary School of the Year 2020. Pate’s is a selective state school which was established over 400 years ago to provide free education to the people of Cheltenham and surrounding areas. Students here achieve the highest academic standards whilst also benefitting from exceptional pastoral care and first-class facilities. We are proud of our inheritance but at the same time very much focused on the future. "Pate’s is consistently among the most successful state grammar schools in the country, and this year’s crop of examination results are among the very best it has ever produced. Yet this is no academic hothouse. Children benefit from a rounded education where academic success is a by-product of a culture of achievement engrained in every fibre of the school. Success in all walks of school life is celebrated and pupils go on to flourish at some of our best universities, building on the academic and social foundations provided by this exceptional school.” Alastair McCall, Editor of The Sunday Times Schools' Guide, Parent Power
