MarketSmith launched in 2010 as the next generation of the popular Daily Graphs Online investment research service. Maintaining the Daily Graphs legacy of offering the industry’s best fundamental and technical information display, MarketSmith takes investment analysis to the pro level with unparalleled equity researching capabilities and an intuitive product flow developed by our in-house experts. Our founder, William J. O'Neil, is a stock market legend. Inspired by a deep-rooted passion for the market, Bill O’Neil pioneered the use of historical precedent to analyze equities in tandem with fundamental and technical analysis. He identified seven basic factors that occurred over and over in almost all top-performing companies over decades of market cycles. Through these rigorous studies, Bill O’Neil originated a disciplined and practiced investment philosophy that has become the foundation of our product lines and is the basis for our renowned stock charts. MarketSmith predecessor, Daily Graphs, was established in 1972 as a printed book of stock charts delivered weekly to subscribers. The stocks charts were developed by Bill O’Neil, whose goal was to offer individual investors the same quality of research tools that institutional investors were using. He wanted to enable these investors to focus on just the key information needed to fully evaluate a stock quickly and efficiently to encourage confident decision-making. The charts gained popularity for their clarity and comprehensive design, and subscribership grew nationally. We took the charts to the web in 1998 with the launch of Daily Graphs Online, and we were able to reach a whole new audience. In 2002, we added supplemental online features that included tools for Mutual Fund and Options analysis. No longer just stock graphs, we seized the opportunity to evolve into a full offering for equity investors. The outcome is today’s innovative and flexible MarketSmith.
