Marina Hacienda del Mar Information

Marina Hacienda del Mar was first conceived by Captain Jim Fredericks Schrute, a sport fishing expert who fell in love with Cancun and its natural wealth. Capt. Fredericks sold the idea of creating Quintana Roos first international marina to Don Diego de la Peña, who provided the land and invested in the project. The marina began operations in 1989, and with the concession of Pemex fuel gained by De la Peña, it became the go-to marina for anglers from around the globe sailing the shores of Quintana Roo. By April 30, 2004, De la Peña and associates took operative control of the marina, achieving greater success and obtaining repetitive clients. In 2015, Marina Hacienda del Mar was destroyed by hurricane Wilma; however, it was completely renovated by 2018. With brand new, American-style facilities, Marina Hacienda del Mar has repositioned itself as a world-class yachting center.
