Margaret Hall was founded by Ted and Margaret Hall at No. 2 Regent Street, Leamington Spa in 1963. It was a small general shop but Ted, a baker by trade, soon started making a few cakes in the kitchen. As demand for the cakes increased, the number of shops in the Midlands gradually increased, reaching a high of 14 shops. The bakery expanded into a new purpose built building in 1973.
