Mardog Information

MARDOG is the acronym for the Morris Area Responsible Dog Owners Group. My first dog, Max, was the inspiration for founding MARDOG. In December 2001 I was inspired to create MARDOG after rescuing Max and discovering how much fun it was to go to the dog park. At that time there were very few dog parks, and none in the Town of Morristown. We set out to bring dog parks to all of Morris County, and in 2004, Lewis Morris Dog Park was born. MARDOG is committed to establishing dog parks throughout Morris County, and to educating public officials about the benefits of off-leash recreation. MARDOG teaches good manners while visiting dog parks, and educates owners about responsible dog ownership, dog park etiquette, and respect and consideration for others. We hold seminars, social events, and outreach events, where we teach people about aggression, inappropriate behavior, and the importance of cleaning up after your dog.
