Marcy Brown Information

Marcy Brown is an international music collective founded by Amsterdam-based musicians, composers, and producers Peter Bergman and Benjamin ‘Benji’ van Gelder. They met in high school, bonding over a shared love for soul, jazz, and funk, which laid the foundation for their friendship and musical collaboration. After contributing to projects for artists such as Leon Ware,Carleen Anderson, Michael Franti, Sandra St. Victor's Daughters of Soul, Giovanca, Sfeq, Metroplole Orkest, Caro Emerald and Suzanna Lubrano, they decided to launch their own project: Marcy Brown. They have since written over 25 songs, inviting musicians from the UK, Brazil, Netherlands, Portugal, and Suriname to collaborate. The result is a collection of original feel-good compositions. The summery track ‘Sei,’ featuring lyrics and vocals by Lilian Vieira () carries a hopeful message: don’t look back; everything will be fine. ‘Sunrise’ is a delightful ode to love, evoking feelings of optimism and carefree living. ‘Tell The World,’ featuring vocalist May Rose, captures the excitement of falling in love and the urge to share that feeling with others. ‘Tell Me This Is Good,’ featuring May Rose and Tamzie, is a call to surrender to your deepest desires. ‘Never Give You Up,’ with its distinct 80’s vibe, was nominated for Best Pop Song 2023 by the International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA). ‘Your Love’ is a cheerful, uptempo track that’s hard not to dance to. contact: agency@marcybrownmusic.com
