MARAIS, multi-brand boutique housing international luxury designers took residence in 2004 hidden inside the former Turkish Bath House in the iconic Royal Arcade. Inspired by Parisian apartment interior of uninterrupted French walls and parquet flooring, the boutique’s reputable approach in Australia to welcome renowned brands including Givenchy, Balenciaga, Rick Owens, Alexander McQueen, Palm Angels and Off White. By 2014, MARAIS welcomed a two-floor womenswear boutique at the Parisian end of Bourke Street as a continuum to the brand’s empire. The boutique’s interior incorporated the ambience of a dark castle with an 3000 crystal chandelier centrepiece and draw bridge inspired hallway with knightly mannequins. Although the mens and womens boutiques sound very different in atmosphere, MARAIS is focused on curating visionary seasonal collections aligned with their DNA. MARAIS’ multi brand concept has also given way to additional partnerships, exclusive events and pop-ups. This has allowed MARAIS to stand out as a brand, rarely seen in the Australian luxury space.
