Mapsat is a company for geo-spatial services in Italy, with a strong focus on delivering operational services for urban development, offering a broad range of geo-information services and applications, ranging from satellite data reception (Terra, Aqua, EROS-B, Suomi NPP), geo-data procurement (satellite data, DEM, land use and land cover data), image processing and analysis, information processing and software development, to the provision of turn-key technical assistance projects and customized spatial land management and monitoring systems. The company was born with the aim of developing innovative products/services based on remote sensing, for the public (civil and military) and private market, focused on territorial control, environmental monitoring and security of citizens. In September 2015, MAPSAT acquired the control of MARSec (Mediterranean Agency for Remote Sensing and Environmental Control), in Benevento, a center able to plan and receive data from high-resolution optical satellites. The Mapsat Ground Station consists of a X-band and a L-band antenna (both provided by SeaSpace) - to receive VHR satellite data and Nasa EOS data - and of a UHF antenna (made by M2 Antenna Systems Inc) configured for communication with nano and micro satellites, both for Earth Observation and for Machine2Machine (M2M) missions.
