Mapleton Community School Information

Mapleton School District is a small, rural public school district located in Western Lane County, Oregon, serving students and families from Mapleton, Swisshome, Tide, Deadwood, Florence, Walton, and surrounding communities. Serving approximately 150 students from preschool through 12th grade, we believe that our size is one of our greatest strengths. At Mapleton, every student is known, valued, and supported. We provide individualized learning experiences that help students discover their strengths, develop their passions, and build the skills needed for success in college, career, and life. While we are small, we creatively provide opportunities often found in much larger districts. Our students engage in authentic, hands-on learning that connects classroom knowledge with real-world application. From growing food for our cafeteria and community, designing and selling products at local farmers' markets, and building tiny homes, to participating in civic leadership and regional governance, Mapleton students learn by doing. Our district is built on strong relationships among students, families, staff, and community partners. We believe education is most powerful when schools and communities work together to create meaningful opportunities for young people. Through innovative programs, project-based learning, career-connected experiences, and community partnerships, we empower students to become leaders, problem-solvers, and contributors to the future of rural Oregon.
