Maple Tree Press publishes books with a number of different imprints, one of which is Owl Books. We also publish under the imprint of Popular Mechanics for Kids™. Q: How is Maple Tree Press related to OWL magazine? A: Owl Books began more than thirty years ago, following the success of OWL magazine. The first Owl books were primarily based on articles and experiments from the magazine, and focused on science and nature. The beloved Dr. Zed was featured in many of these early titles. Since then, we have developed a diverse publishing program that now includes picture books, as well as books on science, nature, history, sports, children's pastimes, crafts, and humor, all now published under the banner of Maple Tree Press.
