Maple Grove Primary School was formed by the amalgamation of Len Wastell Infant School and Pitsea Junior School in 2015. Following the first year of amalgamation, the Lion Education Trust elected to sponsor the school to ensure that the children at Maple Grove receive the same opportunity for an outstanding primary education. Serving the community in Pitsea and Basildon, Maple Grove Primary School welcomes children aged from four to 11 and has already made excellent progress towards becoming a centre of excellence for primary education locally – with significant investments in new practices and technologies to support staff and pupils on their journey to becoming an Assessment Proficient school within the Lion Education Trust. Maple Grove is the first school outside of London that the Lion Education Trust has sponsored and will operate as a beacon school in terms of showcasing the Trust’s teaching methods and practices, operating structures and school improvement strategies in the region.
