For generations, the University of Mannheim has been preparing students to take on leadership roles in business, academia, and society. One of the university’s strengths in this task is its profile, which is characterized by the economic and social sciences. It is in these fields that the University of Mannheim has repeatedly been ranked as one of the top 20 European research institutions. Staff members at six schools and departments teach and carry out research in Business Administration, Economics, the Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Business Informatics and Mathematics. The University of Mannheim's campus is located in the city center of Mannheim and mainly centers around its main campus – the Mannheim Palace (completed in 1760). The university has around 12,000 full-time students, 200 professors, 840 academic and 570 non-academic staff and a total income of more than €123 million in 2018. It is organized into 6 schools.

Das DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e.V. bietet allen Interessierten die Plattform zur Erarbeitung von Normen und Standards als Dienstleistung für Wirtschaft, Staat und Gesellschaft. Das DIN ist privatwirtschaftlich organisiert mit dem rechtlichen Status eines gemeinnützigen Vereins. Der Geschäftssitz ist seit 1917 in Berlin. Die Hauptaufgabe des DIN besteht darin, gemeinsam mit den Vertretern der interessierten Kreise konsensbasierte Normen markt- und zeitgerecht zu erarbeiten. Hierfür bringen rund 28.000 Expertinnen und Experten ihr Fachwissen in die Normungsarbeit ein. Auf Grund eines Vertrages mit der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ist das DIN als die nationale Normungsorganisation in den europäischen und internationalen Normungsorganisationen anerkannt. Heute ist die Normungsarbeit des DIN zu fast 90 Prozent europäisch und international ausgerichtet.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Stuttgart Region (Industrie- und Handelskammer Region Stuttgart/IHK Region Stuttgart) is a strong network of business operators: We represent the interests of more than 150.000 member companies and give the economy in our region a voice towards politics and administration. Being a public corporation the IHK organizes the vocational training and performs other important tasks delegated by law. Furthermore, we inform and advise on all relevant economic matters, offer professional education, and serve as a platform for the exchange of experiences from entrepreneurs. „We“ stands for about 500 employees in administration and management as well as over 5.000 company representatives who engage in voluntary activities in the IHK. We support for our member companies on the spot at our headquarter in Stuttgart as well as at our five sites in the surrounding counties (Böblingen, Esslingen, Göppingen, Ludwigsburg und Rems-Murr).
