The Manee Thai serves time-honored Thai dishes prepared by our celebrated chef Somjet Kapanya, who uses a full compliment of Thai food flavors and ingredients. Somjet Kapanya startet his cooking career in 2005 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok. For 6 consecutive years, he was sous chef of the famed Gourmet Thai Temple 'Sala Rim Naam'. Somjet Kapanya is a true disciple of Royal Thai Cuisine, whose guiding principles call for everything to taste and look delicious. He is a well-known figure to Thai television viewers, having regularly appeared on prime time TV cooking shows as the sous chef for popular TV chef Vichit Mukura. Cooking for Somjet Kapanya is not just a job; it is a passion shaped by his family upbringing. As a twelve year old boy, he watched his mother prepare beautiful and flavorful meals for the family. His mother's kitchen was his first cooking school and it is where he learned the most important maxim in cooking. "People have to love what they are eating, and I will aspire for nothing less."
