Making Docs Information

MAKING DOCS is an institution whose goals are the production, promotion and education about documentary film while serving as a bridge between Europe and Latin America. The films produced by MAKING DOCS focus on social, anthropological, cultural and artistic issues. They talk about people’s dreams, challenges, culture and memory; they explore solutions for a sustainable future and bet on encouraging and transforming stories. They seek to promote reflection and debate, while presenting an original aesthetic and artistic proposal. In the educational field, MAKING DOCS has launched in 2008 the International Diploma in Creative Documentary for the Universidad del Valle, an academic event where Colombian directors meet with renowned filmmakers from Europe and Latin America. The Diploma is now part of the UniValle curriculum. Awards and International festivals: MAKING DOCS has been awarded for its work in many occasions, both nationally (creation grants from the Ministry of Culture of Colombia, Awards from the Colombian Film Development Fund) and internationally (Alterciné Grant / Canada ; Unión Latina Award / Francia ; Intermón Oxfam Award / Spain). MAKING DOCS’ films have been presented in several international festivals like Actúa and Docúpolis (Spain), Rencontres Cinémas d’Amérique Latine (France), Sanfic (Chile), Itiniraries (Bélgica), Refuge in Films (U.K.), Zoom In (NY, U.S.A.)...
