Makers Against Mines (MAM) Information

The objective of the organization is to develop, design, test and make publicly available in open-source, open-data and open-science the plans, code, tests and documentation of mechanical, electrical and electronic devices for humanitarian mine clearance. The aim is to facilitate large-scale access and reproduction of these devices to help protect populations threatened by land or marine mines worldwide. To achieve these objectives, the organization undertakes the following actions: research and development of new mine clearance devices, conducting comprehensive tests to ensure their reliability and effectiveness, publishing plans, source code and documentation in open-source/open-data and open-science to enable others to use, improve and reproduce them promoting the use of these devices to ensure their large-scale adoption collaborating with humanitarian organizations, governments, universities and mine clearance experts. Furthermore, the organization is committed to acting in an ethical and responsible manner by designing sustainable and lasting solutions, respecting international standards for humanitarian mine clearance and promoting open access to information.
