Makerbloks are colour-coded building blocks that introduce children to the world of electronics. We combine physical building blocks with a storytelling app that encourages kids to build with their hands, while learning with a story. The result is that children begin to create their own games and take ownership of the technology they’re using. MakerBloks was founded in 2014 in Montreal, Canada by Francois Poirier, who graduated at the top of his class at the Founder Institute of Montreal. He designed MakerBloks as a way to empower children as young as 5 years old to become the creators, not just the consumers, of the technology that surrounds them. Here are our recent awards: - 2016 participant in Techstars' first retail accelerator, in partnership with Target - Finalist of the South by South West « Innovative World Technologies » pitch 2016 - Winner of TechCrunch’s Pitch-Off (Montreal)2015 - Live Pitch and Showcase Award at the National Crowdfunding Summit - Editor's Choice Blue Ribbon at Maker Faire Bay Area 2015 - Fundica Funding RoadShow in Montreal 2015 - Montreal Inc.
