• MAKAR Ltd is a timber engineering, building design, manufacture and delivery company, established in 2002. • The company’s underpinning objective is to develop, design and manufacture beautiful, contemporary homes, buildings and places that are high quality, zero carbon impact, cost effective, environmentally benign and fit for purpose. • Over the past 17 years MAKAR has developed a unique Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) design and development process. This is coupled with an innovative, standardised build system which it uses to deliver all its homes, buildings and places. This versatile, offsite build system is comprised of three key components – natural Structural Insulated Panels (nSIPs), fully serviced bathroom and other modules and post and beam frame sets. These components can be combined to efficiently deliver a wide range of sustainable building types to a very high quality. • MAKAR is a customer-focussed business that aims to provide certainty over: design quality, workmanship, program and cost. Our approach responds to increasing customer demand for higher build quality, performance, zero carbon impact and environmental specifications which are generally absent in a broader construction sector resistant to innovation. • MAKAR homes and buildings are designed to sequester carbon through the extensive use of timber and natural materials, high levels of energy efficiency and embedded micro-renewable energy generation. • Our ethos is built on a transparent open book approach to cost that builds trust with partners and customers. This provides a solid basis for positive, accountable relationships between MAKAR, its partners and customers. • The company has completed over 150 buildings in the last 17 years including bespoke houses, small housing developments, commercial buildings, workshops, offices, visitor/community centres and a wide range of smaller structures.
