As an industry leader supplying malt and specialty ingredients for beer, distilled spirits, food, beverage, and pet food industries, we set ourselves apart from competitors with flexibility and small batch capabilities. Our facilities are optimized for malting, roasting, kilning, milling, and sprouting to produce outstanding malts, flours, and ingredients. Our extract plant and 500bbl brewhouse produce malt extracts, gluten-free syrups, and other natural sweeteners.

Simpsons Malt Limited was established by J.P. Simpson in Alnwick, Northumberland, back in 1862. It has remained a family-owned and run business throughout its history and has stayed truly independent in what is an ever-changing market place. Our customers predominantly use our malted products in the production of beer, whisky and food products and are based both in the UK and abroad. We have supplied malt to companies in more than 35 countries over the last 20 years. We prefer to source our raw materials from the UK, of which malting barley is the most common. We established our own merchanting company, McCreath Simpson in 1980, which became McCreath, Simpson & Prentice (MSP) in 1982. As a result, through MSP we are able to procure the majority of our raw material requirements each year.
