St. Patrick’s Special School is a specialist educational facility catering for 50 students with intellectual disability. Some have multiple disabilities along with a range of complex personal and health care needs. Ultimately, however, we are inspired by the very strong belief that the young people we serve have a fundamental right to a quality education that is meaningful, purposeful and hope-filled. While they may have impaired skills and understandings, they are most definitely not impaired as persons. Each of them has an enormous amount to offer the world and our work as an educational community is to support them to achieve this.
