MAIA Information

For anyone who is new to Futures Thinking, MAIA is a gateway to attaining futures literacy. We offer fun and accessible capacity building programs that enable anyone to use the future to change the present. After the success of "All of our Futures", a series of free futures thinking programs run during the COVID-19 lockdown, Shakil, Anisah, Shermon and Adam decided to establish MAIA - a collective of educators and facilitators passionate about futures literacy. MAIA is an acronym for our mantra - May All Inspire All - which inspires our participatory approach to futures. The word also means brave in Maori; an attribute we all need in changing times, and mother in ancient Greek; close to the word Gaia for mother Earth. We want all our programs to promote a more symbiotic and healthy relationship between people and planet. MAIA will continue to offer free participatory futures workshops to the public, while also providing consultancy services and capacity building programs to organizations seeking to use the future to develop strategy today.
