KXRN is a non-commercial, member- supported radio station dedicated to connecting Laguna's creative community through unique, alternative music, local performances, and public affairs programming that informs, educates, entertains, and inspires.
KXRN is champion of new music but loves the classics, too. We play "Generational Alt Rock" from the 1960s to now. Our beachside studio is perfect for local acts and touring bands to stop by.
KXRN is also a dynamic education resource, providing Laguna residents and visitors with valuable, timely information on its community calendar, local news and weather, beach and surf conditions, traffic, as well as training and internships for students.
KXRN is an FCC-licensed, Low-Power FM (LPFM) radio station and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. It can be heard worldwide at www.KX935.com.
We are committed to developing talent and interest in our industry and provides internship opportunities in radio promotions for student interns. An internship at K102 can provide you the chance to explore your career interests, acquire marketable job skills while "learning the ropes" of the industry, establish professional contacts, and gain practical work experience. Our internships offer meaningful educational and work experiences designed to meet the academic and career goals of the intern. Our management will teach and encourage, but it's up to the student to bring an enthusiasm to learn. Because internships at K102 are learning experiences, they are unpaid.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Ohio serves children in the five-county area through its Community-based and School-based Mentoring programs. Its programs align with those of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, which served approximately 8,000 children last year through Community-based and School-based Mentoring programs in Franklin, Delaware, Union, Clark, Champaign and Madison Counties, and Camp Oty'Okwa. As part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, both agencies operate research-based, results-driven programs that have a proven impact on the children they serve. "it is obvious that the community is very supportive of the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Ohio," says Edward N. Cohn, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio. "We are looking forward to working with Christy and the agency staff; the Board; and the many dedicated volunteers, friends and supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Ohio."
