Madrid Engineering Group, Inc. (MEG) specializes in geotechnical engineering for structure foundations, earthen structures, and other subsurface construction. We provide a wide range of engineering, environmental and geologic services. We are a FDOT DBE/SBE consultant, prequalified in both geotechnical engineering and CEI (construction engineering inspection). We are also a State MBE, certified by the Florida Office of Supplier Diversity, and we are also MBE certified by the National Minority Supplier Development Council. Madrid has been in business for over 25 years. We have completed approximately 10,000 foundation investigations and designs throughout Florida, including subsidence investigations to determine if sinkhole processes are active in Florida’s limestone bedrock and overlying soil. We have our own in-house fleet of owned geotechnical drilling rigs and a CPT (cone penetration test) rig. We also have an AASHTO and CMEC accredited soils and construction materials laboratory, and we regularly test soil, concrete, asphalt, limerock, and other aggregate and construction materials. Madrid Engineering is the US Technical Representative for CONSOLID, a chemical stabilization system for increasing strength and reducing capillarity in road bases. This process has been used worldwide and is a cost-effective method to reduce maintenance and increase reliability of roads and highways. Madrid is an award-winning firm: 2014 and 2016 Projects of the Year for the Ridge Branch of ASCE, and with two FES Engineers of the Year. Our CEI staff are CTQP certified for FDOT projects, and consistently perform well in their positions. Our largest project to date is the geotechnical investigation and foundation design for the Pensacola Bay Bridge, a FDOT Design-Build project.
