Machete Information

Machete opened its doors in Mexico City in November 2012, focusing on emerging Latin American art. We represent artists that interest us because of their creative process since we believe that through it they reflect upon their own context, but also upon their particular time. Our aim is that every artist in our gallery has a different voice and formal solution, but that together they make an inclusive and plural conversation. Our exhibition program is not only made up of shows by the artists we represent and we also work with curators that use our space to exhibit their own projects, or with artists with whom we wish to collaborate on a particular proposal. In our gallery and the Colonia Roma, we have a store space where we show a selection of works at accessible prices, with the purpose of encouraging new collectors.
