At Macarthur Early Learning we offer a 'School Readiness Program' that is designed for children in the preschool room the year before their commencement of Primary school. Our 'School Readiness Program' is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and is incorporated in the curriculum through everyday teachings and experiences. Through our 'School Readiness Program' we aim to equip all children with the skill and knowledge that they will need to ensure that they have a successful transition to school. At Macarthur Early Learning we strive to create a sense of belonging through supporting secure, respectful and enhancing relationships. We recognise the importance of families being the primary influence in their child's life, and therefore strive to continually develop and maintain collaborative and open partnerships with all families. We believe when educators establish respectful and caring relationships with children and families, together we are able to make strong connections and links between the children, their families and the curriculum which guides their learning process. We believe that "Learning outcomes are most likely to be achieved when early childhood educators work in partnership with families...Partnerships are based on the foundations of understanding each other's expectations and attitudes, and building on the strength of each other's knowledge. We believe that Diversity within our centre, staff, families and wider community should be respected and celebrated. To this end, we play a role in fostering and developing social and cultural awareness amongst children through educating the children on ethical and cultural issues such as multiculturalism, discrimination, cultural awareness, stereotyping and by reaching out and creating ties with and exploring the local community. We believe that "Educators who are culturally competent respect multiple cultural ways of knowing, seeing and living, celebrate the benefits of diversity and have an ability to understand and honour differences. At Macarthur Early Learning we focus on educating and creating awareness of sustainable living practices. We believe that this is best achieved by creating awareness through implementation of sustainable practices and teaching the children to respect and care for the living and non-living environments. Through these teachings our Educators promote a holistic, open ended curriculum and enable the children to understand the connection between people and the environment. Awe attempt to achieve this by creating connections with nature through art, play and exploration as children learn to engage with natural, recycled and man made materials. At Macarthur Early Learning we are providing fresh, nutritious and diverse meals that not only reflect the different cultures within our centres community but also reflect the Dietary Guidelines for Children in Australia.
