MAC Engineers was previously known as McAvinchey Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd which is the same company with a new look but still has a strong technical and practical background and offers a major contribution in project management, sub-contract administration and effective cost control. Specific expertise is offered in Electrical Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation, Special Lighting Systems, Specialised Power Supplies, Security Systems, Fire Defence, Electronic Control Systems, Automation, Energy Effective Design as well as Photovoltaic and Solar design and site management experience. The practice offers one of the most effective bills of quantities which have been developed over the past 10 years. All projects are designed up front and measured in detail to minimise the provisional sums and therefore obtain an accurate cost at tender stage. Variances to date have been within five percent. The result is effective cost control through close liaison with modern Quantity Surveying practices. All projects are controlled by means of “hands on” site engineering and commissioning, including monitoring of maintenance contracts and post occupation performance.
