LYON SKI SCHOOL, Inc. believes that the students who participate in our program are our most important consideration. We provide an environment where personal growth is enhanced through the development of a positive self-concept. We make an extraordinary effort to insure a safe and healthy environment for our students. Our philosophy extends beyond teaching skiing and snowboard technique, to teaching life-lessons through a sincere respect and concern for our students. We feel it is our commitment to the students that has earned us a strong reputation in the community and a leadership role among those in the ski industry. Our winter programs are 7 weeks long beginning the second weekend in January; running consecutive weeks through mid-February. Students are placed in class based upon age and ability. Class dynamics are carefully assessed the first two weeks and placements are fine-tuned to make sure every student is in a class that is appropriately challenging for optimal learning and FUN! After the assessment period, classes are fixed so trust can develop between instructor and student. You WON'T be juggled through different instructors every week or forced to make new friends each time you come. Class sizes are small, averaging 5 to 7 students in a group. In our classes of young children aged 4 to 6 years, ratios are held at 2 to 3 kids to one staff member. Not just a children's school - While our childen's program is highly recognized, we also offer exceptional programming for adults. Whether you are a first time beginner, seasoned pro looking for a "guide", or an instructor looking for certification training, we have a class for you. Looking for a ride to the mountain? We offer transportation Friday and Saturday's from a number of convenient locations.
