A worldwide, fast-casual restaurant company specialising in spicy PERi-PERi chicken and sauces. PERi-PERi is the heart and soul of Nando’s. Its story is our story. For centuries the people of Southeast Africa have used PERi-PERi to bring fire to their food. It is in Mozambique’s rich soil and blistering sunshine that the African Bird’s Eye Chilli grows into its fiery best. When Portuguese explorers arrived there, they were enchanted by its flavour. They added a squeeze of lemon and a kick of garlic and turned PERi-PERi into a very well-travelled spice. Which is how, many years later it ended up in Rosettenville, Johannesburg.
One afternoon in 1987, two friends went for lunch at a humble Portuguese eatery. As their meal drew to a close, they knew they’d tasted something that had to be shared. PERi-PERi was about to make one more journey – from Rosettenville to the world. Originating in South Africa, Nandos has restaurants in 23 countries, and employs more than 34,000 Nandocas (that's our special name for members of the Nando's Family).
At Roman’s Pizza we strive to provide the best quality pizzas at the best value for money. It all started in 1993 when owner Mr. A. Nicolakakis, a restaurateur by trade, purchased a flagging pizza restaurant with the intention of turning it around with his extensive knowledge and expertise.
Instead of changing prices he decided to give two pizzas for the price of one. That is when Little Caesar’s came into being, eventually leading to the “birth” of Roman’s Pizza in 2002.
Today Roman’s Pizza has more than 250 stores being one of the busiest pizzerias in the country with some of our stores selling up to and even
at times, more than 2,000 pizzas per night.
Country-wide, we aim to offer consumers a more affordable meal, plus provide the franchisee with a substantial return on their capital.
