🌍 The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC) is a state-owned enterprise and Latvia’s leading competence centre for environmental, geological, hydrological, and meteorological data. LEGMC provides high-quality services and reliable information that support national decision-making in areas related to climate, water, air quality, and sustainable resource management. Its mission is to ensure accurate environmental monitoring, promote sustainability, and contribute to Latvia’s and the global community’s resilience to environmental change. Our activities cover a wide range of essential areas: - Environmental and climate data collection, processing, and analysis - Meteorological, hydrological, geological, and air quality monitoring - Climate and weather forecasting and early warning systems - Laboratory testing and calibration services for environmental quality - Radioactive waste management and environmental risk assessment - National and international cooperation on sustainability and data sharing With more than 280 professionals across Latvia, LEGMC operates an extensive monitoring network, including meteorological, hydrological, geological, and air quality observation stations, ensuring comprehensive and transparent environmental data for the public and decision-makers.
