Launched in 2016, Lumos is a San Francisco-based startup on a mission to fix America’s chronic lack of sleep. Founded by two Stanford scientists, Dr. Vanessa Burns and Dr. Biquan Luo, Lumos is a scientifically-proven sleep mask that delivers light therapy on a personalized schedule to shift the body's internal clock. Lumos works while you sleep to help you get to sleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling restored, refreshed, and ready to take on the day. Designed for jet lagged travelers, elite athletes, teenagers, and shift workers, Lumos is based on proven technology and patents licensed from Stanford University’s groundbreaking Center for Sleep Medicine. Lumos is funded by NASA and raised a $1M seed round led by Bolt, Oriza Ventures, Grit Labs, and Stanford in 2016.
