LUMEN's mission is to ensure that a quality and affordable college education is available to disadvantaged and underserved populations. LUMEN is partnering with highly regarded La Salle University, and The NHU Foundation (one of the US's top foundations focused on improving education excellence for Hispanics) on the nationwide expansion of BUSCA, the leading college degree pathway program for Hispanics. - BUSCA is a unique and multi-award winning college degree program, and the only associate degree program to be named twice as a “What Works for Latino Students” by Excelencia in Education. - BUSCA is achieving superior results; our degree attainment rates are 66%; almost 4-times average 2-year public college results for Hispanics. Plus our graduates transfer into 4-year programs at a rate 25% higher than the U.S. average. - BUSCA is an affordable premier private college education, as tuition and books costs less than the average price of in-state tuition at an average public 4-year university, plus most BUSCA students pay nothing to attend and graduate with zero student loan debt.
