The Lower Manhattan Construction Command Center (LMCCC), established in November 2004, is charged with coordination and general oversight of all Lower Manhattan publicand private construction projects worth more than $25 million south of Canal Street. The Command Center’s mission is to facilitate construction activities, mitigate their impacts on the community and communicate with the public about the work and its impact. The agency works with project sponsors to help streamline design and construction schedules, negotiate priorities, coordinate logistics and plan the movement of construction workers, materials and equipment to the area. In upholding this mission, the LMCCC brings together private developers, public agencies, utilities, businesses, and residents to coordinate billions of dollars in construction and mitigate the impact of that construction on the multiple stakeholders. Individual Programs External Relations oversees media, press communications, community relations, outreach to Lower Manhattan residents, businesses, and property owners. Construction Coordination and Mitigation coordinates daily activities, scheduling, and logistics of all construction projects by establishing a master schedule ensuring the availble and efficient delivery of necessary materials, equipment, and labor to complete the redevelopment plan. Environmental Compliance works to ensure adherence to Environmental Performance Commitments.
