The Barbican is a multi-arts, learning, and conference centre in the City of London. We’re a catalyst for creativity, sparking possibilities for artists, audiences, and communities.
We’re passionate about showcasing the most exciting art from around the world, pushing traditional artistic boundaries and helping us understand our lives in new and unexpected ways. Each year we present hundreds of different performances, events and exhibitions that entertain and inspire millions of people, create connections, provoke debate, and reflect the world we live in. Central to our purpose is supporting emerging talent, shaping opportunities that will accelerate the next generation of creatives.
Opened in 1982, the Barbican is a unique and audacious building, recognised globally as an architectural icon. As well as our theatres, galleries, concert halls and cinemas, we are home to a large conservatory with over 1,500 species of plants and trees, a library, conference facilities, public and community spaces, restaurants, bars, and a picturesque lakeside oasis.
Focussed firmly on the future, we’re working on ambitious plans to transform our building, reimaging what an arts centre can be and doing our part to address the climate crisis. Through our work on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, we will ensure the Barbican becomes a place where everyone belongs – where creativity, enterprise, and learning coexist, and everybody can achieve their fullest potential.
The Roundhouse is a hub of inspiration where artists and emerging talent create extraordinary work and where young people can grow creatively as individuals. We believe in the power of creativity to change lives. By giving young people the chance to engage with the arts through our music, media and performance projects, we inspire them to reach further, dream bigger, and achieve more.
We do this because we believe creativity gives us freedom, hope and has the power to transform.
So we’re here to transform. To create, agitate and excite. To shake things up.
Each year, we give thousands of 11–25-year-olds the chance to develop their skills and confidence through creativity – in music, media or the performing arts. We help them find new perspectives and new directions. Whether it’s helping someone get into education, or out of a rut. Or supporting their early career in the arts. Whatever the spark, we nurture it into a flame that can change everything.
Creativity drives change drives creativity drives change drives…
The Roundhouse is one of the most incredible live performance spaces in the world where the biggest names in music, theatre, circus and spoken word take to the stage every day. A former railway engine repair shed, the Grade II* listed building was transformed into a groundbreaking performing arts venue 50 years ago, and we have welcomed legendary artists from all over the world to perform in our unique spaces.
Troxy is one of London’s most versatile venues, which is conveniently located equidistant between Canary Wharf and the City. Originally opened in the 1930s as a cinema, this 3,100 capacity venue has been fully restored to meet the needs of today’s event organisers, whilst retaining its historical Grade II listed art deco features.
The venue boasts a permanently installed JBL VTX A12 PA, concert grade lighting and huge stage with wings. Hosting some 200 events per year, Troxy caters for live concerts, club, comedy, drag, corporate dinners, award ceremonies, conferences and exhibitions.
