LOKAL is a concept art gallery situated at the heart of Helsinki and online at lokalhelsinki.com aspiring to create and bring to you moments in which art, craftsmanship and sustainability come together, reflecting the harmony of nature in both essence, material and design. Lokal's curated group exhibitions, as well as Lokal' permanent collections, host a wide array of works of local artists, visionaries, makers and masters. Lokal is inspired by what is found in the connecting seams between artistic expression, artisanship, skill and craft. Culturally, a close relationship to nature shapes our way of thinking and our understanding of natural materials and their value. Craftsmanship is not only a way of being in an intimate dialogue with that which surrounds us, it also is an education in valuable heritage and ecological consciousness. Sustainability is something Lokal wishes to embed in all our activity, ranging from uncompromising quality of small-scale production, to cultivating supportive social atmospheres within the ever-growing Lokal Community.
