LMA Optimizer BV Information

LMA Optimizer BV is developing LarynxLock to help Anesthesiologists and Emergency Medical Technicians solve the leakage problem when ventilating patients with a Supraglottic Airway Device (S.A.D). LarynxLock does not replace the SAD but it is an additional flexible headband with a specially formed pusher. This pusher pressurizes the soft floor of the mouth and pushes the internal tissue of the patient against the SAD. This way the leakage of the SAD is reduced to an acceptabel level and the patient remains stable. Advantages using LarynxLock: - The care giver has their hands free. - Lower risk for the patient compared to more invasive intubating. - Placing LarynxLock is quicker than intubating. - No need to switch airway policy and risk an unexpected difficult airway. - Placing LarynxLock is less expensive than intubating - Placing LarynxLock takes less time in the OR due to extubating.
