Little Red Schoolhouse of Metairie Information

Established in 1975. Since 1975, The Little Red Schoolhouse of Metairie has provided young children with a nurturing, creative environment to learn and have fun. Our philosophy is that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, exploring and discovery, and we aim to provide an atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth and development. Our 10,000 square foot facility provides children with an art room, library, music room, large indoor playrooms, a 1,500 square foot indoor gym and classrooms. Our beautiful playground is 10,000 square feet and is located behind the school. We are pleased to tell you about the Little Red Schoolhouse of Metairie. Our beautiful school has a character all its own amid the lovely oak trees of Old Metairie. The Little Red Schoolhouse was established in 1975. The school is licensed by the State of Louisiana Department of Education and complies with all standards put forth by that Department and licensed as well by Jefferson Parish, the State Board of Health and the State Fire Marshall. The school is owned and under the directorship of Connie Richardson and Debbie Schweter. Connie attended Southeastern Louisiana University and holds a degree in Early Childhood Education. Debbie holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Louisiana Tech University and specialized in Early Childhood Development.
