Litfest is the UK's third-oldest literary festival, with a volunteer board, based in Lancaster and operating in North Lancashire and the South Lakes. We put on a full festival programme every year, and we’re also involved in a whole host of other events and projects — you can join our mailing list to find out more. We’ve been lucky to have lots of exciting authors, poets and illustrators involved with the festival over the years, and we can’t wait to continue that legacy in the future. Litfest aims to stimulate, promote and reflect the best in contemporary literature, illustration and ideas in the UK and beyond. We have successfully created a wide variety of events for our audiences since 1978, always championing the local, the national and the international.
