Who we are? Links for Greener Learning (LGL) is a not-for-profit environmental organization that is geared towards linking educational institutions with newcomers and domestic students to provide experiential learning opportunities about the environment throughout the Niagara Region. LGL seeks to serve the needs of the community by promoting environmentally friendly and sustainable practices. LGL programs and initiatives focus on protecting and preserving our natural environment while providing meaningful social and economic benefits to members of the community. Our purpose is to link newcomers and domestic students enrolled in cooperative learning (Co-op credits), internships, field placements, and practicum programs with opportunities to gain work experience while helping to meet the needs of the community. Links for Greener Learning believes that newcomers have the creativity, innovation, skills, and knowledge to make valuable contributions to the Niagara Community. Our Mission LGL seeks to raise environmental awareness of environmental issues and promote possible solutions through engaging and educating newcomers and other members of the community. LGL develops and implements meaningful programs and initiatives that promote sustainable practices within the community and provides opportunities for people to learn, get involved, and foster an appreciation of their natural environment. Links for Greener Learning is dedicated to the integration of educational institutions and newcomers by creating experiential learning opportunities throughout the Niagara Region. Our Vision PRESERVE, RESTORE, IMPROVE Links for Greener Learning (LGL) is committed to preservation, restoration, and improvement of the natural environment. Our goal is to spread awareness about the relationship between humans and the environment, and the proper care of that interaction required to reach the goal of eco-sustainability.
